Stadium project back on

Residents get their way.

After days of talks between residents of Ward 37 and their councillor’s office, the community say they are happy with the final decision taken of taking people from their area to be part of the Jabavu Stadium renovation project.

Residents had put a stop to the new project demanding to be heard as they said people employed to work on this project were not from their area.

Resident Xolie Langa, said that they had put a halt on the process as they wanted their councillor’s office to take people from their section who are also unemployed.

“Now we are happy as five people from our area have been taken to be part of the project. The remaining 15 were from other parts of our ward. Thank you to the councillor for listening to our concerns and to Jabavu Urban News for assisting in reporting our story,” she said.
