Man accused of killing wife with a shovel

Murder accused to appear in court.

A man accused of allegedly killing his wife with a shovel fled to Venda but the police found him.

On April 4 it is alleged that the accused killed his wife in a backroom they live in, in Zone Eight.

Police spokesperson, Sibusiso Chauke said: “The murder accused called his brother and told him about what had happened.

“He then fled to Venda.

“On arrival the police found the deceased lying dead on the bed with an open wound on the head.”

He was arrested in Venda days later and brought back to answer to the murder charge.

He appeared in the Protea Magistrate Court, the case was declined and further investigations are ongoing.

“As soon as we have a statement from an eyewitness, the case will be back in court,” Chauke said.
