The Gauteng Department of Education has opened school registrations for the 2015 academic year.
Gauteng Education MEC for Education, Barbara Creecy said that they have opened these registrations early because there is a high demand for space in Gauteng schools.
“We have over 2 000 public schools that accommodate 1.9 million pupils.
“Parents are requested to apply early so that we can accommodate their children next year.
“This will also help to enable us to plan for the number of children coming to our system, and for parents it means getting a school closer to their work place or residence,” Creecy said.
