Kathrada gets contractor
172 stands to be completed for residents of Kathrada Park Informal Settlement.
The City of Joburg (COJ) hosted a housing roadshow in Region B and G.
Kathrada Park, was one of the stops that the Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Housing, councillor Dan Bovu, along with other MMC’s joined the roadshow that focused on one of South Africa’s biggest challenges.
Bovu says: “We have brought the contractor to the site and we want to start working on the 172 stands that need to be completed.”
Racism has reared its ugly head in Kathrada Park because people from surrounding areas have invaded the houses, Bovu says.
“Those people to be evicted.”
On this roadshow, title deeds and houses were given to residents of Orange Farm.
