Angry residents go on the hunt for drug dealers

Police struggled to calm down residents.

Yesterday, residents in Bramfischer went on a search for drug dealers (nyaope) in the area.

Residents went to Ntaba-mhlophe (White Mountain) found in Bramfischer to raid the tents and shacks where the dealers were suspected to be residing.

In the act, three men were seen fleeing the shelters.

The shelters were burnt to the ground by the angry crowd.

Apparently a female was caught by the residents and is believed to be working with the men.

The suspect apparently confessed to the crowd about the drug dealing and who the people involved were.

Hector Louwu said the suspect was held captive by the community and would be delivered to police after she had pointed out the people involved.

Louwu said the suspect did say that there are police officers involved in the drug dealing activities.

“We want to know who these corrupt people are and they must face the law.
