The Merafe Drop in Centre is planning on having a mother’s day event to celebrate women from within Soweto and surrounding areas.
In addition to those celebrations the women will visit the Soweto Home for the Aged to pamper the elderly, interact with them and give them gifts.
Afterwards the women will gather at Hleko’s Place in Central Western Jabavu to enjoy some lunch and entertainment.
Organiser of the event, Betty Hleza said: “We would like all the women who are interested in participating in this event to call us. “Our aim is not just to focus on mother’s day but to form something bigger afterwards and will not just be for women but for the community.”
