The police have confirmed that the man who was beaten up by the community last Thursday in Zone One is alive.
Police spokesperson Sibusiso Chauke confirmed that he appeared in court on Monday with his accomplice and that they were officially charged with house robbery.
He was beaten up badly by the community and he had blood all over his face.
Chauke said: “He is not dead.
“After the beating, he was taken to hospital and he was discharged days after.”
He will appear in court on April 8.
Chauke said this after rumours were circulating that the man had died from the beating he received from the residents.
