ANC does community work in Jabulani

Campaign creates awareness on keeping neighbourhood clean.

The Jabulani ANC branch hosted a clean up campaign last week Friday at the passage next to Sivumile Primary School opposite Pace Secondary School.

The campaign was done to create awareness on keeping our neighbourhood clean and to show the community that it does not need to wait for services to be brought to them.

Councillor Michael Mtimkulu is the councillor for Jabulani and says that he has sent out a request to Pikitup and City Parks to come clean areas that need attention.

According to him, the two agencies have been slow to act on their requests so the ward decided to do the cleaning themselves.

“More can be done if the community comes together and tackle issues as a unit.

“We cant wait for Pik It Up where as we can do the work ourselves, so our ward invites all residents to join in making our community better, as a team,” Mthimkhulu said.

The councillor says more cleaning is still going to take place so this was one of many community upliftment programs that the councillor invites the community to take part in.
