'Watch where you park'

Head of Communications at Orlando Police Station Nomvula Mbense urges residents not to put themselves in compromising positions.

Head of Communications at Orlando Police Station, Nomvula Mbense, has urged residents to be extra cautious when it comes to their cars.

She said that people tend to park in secluded areas and that gives criminals the opportunity to steal their vehicles.

“We find that couples are hijacked in many instances as they will park in isolated areas for privacy. Some will park in isolated areas in the evening which is even more dangerous, I advise all residents to take extra caution and to make sure that they don’t put themselves in compromising situations,” she said.

Mbense said that if residents see or hear anything suspicious they should immediately call the police.

“When calling the police people should use their sector vehicle number for a faster response,” she said.
