Volunteers applauded and others invited to join police

Community throws its weight behind the fight against crime.

Moroka Police Station is extending its gratitude to most of the residents who have thrown their weight behind the fight against crime in all the areas it’s policing.

The station’s spokesperson John Serala said the work done by volunteers is amazing and will be rewarded soon.

“We have amazing volunteers at our station, they are always at all crime fighting campaigns that we host, be it in the morning or at night.

“Even though they are not paid, they are so dedicated and focused and determined to do anything and assist us to win the fight against crime always.”

One of the volunteers Nonki Mokoena who have been volunteering for the past three years said: “I’m affected by crime and the only way to help stop it or decrease it is to offer and volunteer my free service at the station.

“It feels great when I wake up every morning to go to the station and get involved in any campaign that fights crime and I would really encourage other people in the township to visit the station more often and get involved with the projects hosted by different departments at the station and by doing so, they will be helping to build a healthy and safer society for everyone.”

“Our volunteers efforts in helping us fight crime wont go unnoticed, their reward is coming soon, all they have to do is to be patience and keep playing their role in the fight against crime.

“Other residents are encouraged to visit our station or call us and see what campaigns are suitable for them to join and volunteer during their spare time,” said Serala.
