The Community Policing Forum at the Dobsonville Police Station has been disbanded.
This was confirmed by police communications officer, Mzwakhe Xazi.
According to Xazi, the CPF was not active in its duties and this led to its disbandment.
Apparently CPF executive elections should have been held but they didn’t happen.
Xazi said in the interim, a working committee has been put into place to monitor the five sectors.
“There is a Sector Crime Forum that works with the station commander to prevent transgression in the cluster and in other local respective areas too.
He said” An election meeting will be held after the 2014 general election, in this meeting a proper CPF panel will be elected.
“The community will be updated on the progress of this matter after the elections,” said Xazi.
