Young fathers’ widespread problem

Young fathers cry foul.

The facilitator for Lungelo’s programme, Abanomzana a Baqotho, Emile Modisaesi said more and more young men seem to have the problem of not being allowed access to their children by the mothers.

Modisaesi said young mothers and fathers often quarrel over their own issues that often leave children in the middle of their conflict.

“In complaints we have received, the fathers say they are denied access to their children because of the differences with the mothers, specially where money is involved.

“If we do not get to correct this recurring behaviour, what is going to happen to tomorrow’s family life?

“This behaviour sets a disappointing impression about the future of our society,” Modisaesi said.

Abanomzama a Baqotho said their role in society is be actively and positively involved in societal issues.

He said young people’s focus should not even be on parenthood but on getting an education, a job and a stable life.
