Barona and Diepkloof Square celebrate Human Rights Day

Barona Child Care Centre put on a show to celebrate Human Rights Day.

To celebrate Human Rights Day, the Diepkloof Square treated the Barona Child Care Centre at Setebe’s.

Barona is an afterschool programme that looks after vulnerable children. The celebrations were attended by the CPF, the Youth Desk and Love Life.

Barona Children showcased their talent by dancing different cultural dances.

Mavis Jula from the centre said that the children enjoyed themselves.

“We were surprised when Diepkloof Square approached us with the idea. We want to thank them for making Human Rights a memorable day for the children. It also gave us an opportunity as an NGO to advertise our work to the community of Diepkloof,” she said.

Jula said that they had a Sarafina play to show children how lucky they are to live in this generation.
