Shop robberies increase

Head of Communications at Orlando Police Station Nomvula Mbense urges residents and shop owners to be vigilant as car hijackings and shop robberies are on the rise.

Captain Nomvula Mbense from Orlando Police station says the number of shop robberies has increased in recent months.

She said that shop owners must be on the lookout and must call the police any time that they see anything or anyone suspicious.

“I advise all shop owners to form a relationship with their neighbours and ask them to also be on the lookout for anyone suspicious and it immediately call the police.

Mbense also said that residents must also be alert as a car hijacking has also shown an increase. She said residents should not park in secluded or isolated areas.

“If residents see anyone who appears to be suspicious while they are in their car they must call the police immediately.
