MMC against medicine theft
Nonceba Molwele MMC for Health said people who steal medication will be dealt with.
Member of Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Health Nonceba Molwele said people who steal medication at clinics for sale and illegal activities usage will be punished.
The MMC spoke after piles of different medication and boxes of condoms were found dumped at two different spots in Chiawelo.
“There have been such cases reported to our department and we promise that very soon we will work on some strategies to condemn such illegal activities.
“It does not matter even If the pills and condoms have expired, they are not supposed to be dumped anywhere in public, but there are places within clinics and hospitals where they can be placed.”
Molwele said: “We urge residents to please work hand in hand with us and report those perpetrators who are engaged on this illegal activities, there are lots of sick and old people out there who are in dire needs of those medications and we cant tolerate and allow people to steal medications for quick cash or to throw away.
“We must unite and end this sick behaviour, because it is crippling our departments and if we don’t unite and act together, then we will never have a solution to this illegal activities.”
