Drinking, smoking in uniform

Pupils busted with alcohol during a police search operation.

Communications officer, Constable Mzwakhe Xazi, of the Dobsonville Police Station says he is concerned about pupils who sit at parks after school in their school uniforms drinking and smoking.

Last week, while driving in the streets of Bramfischerville doing check-ups in the area, Xazi said he came across a group of boys at a park in Phase 1.

When they were searched an alcohol bottle was found.

Xazi says it is wrong for pupils to spend time at the park in their school uniforms because they misrepresent their schools.

“Parks are used for relaxation and not for drinking and smoking.

Xazi took all their details to inform their parents and teachers of their actions.

He said ”We will not tolerate such behaviour from young people”.

Xazi said they will continue to patrol and monitor all the areas.
