A hijacking took place in Jabulani two weeks ago where the suspects stole boxes of cell phones from a mini bus taxi.
The suspects and vehicle where found by police last week Wednesday and they will appear in court.
A series of house break-ins have taken place during the past week in Jabulani, Zola. Moletsane and Zondi.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubela said the five suspects were arrested last week and attended court on Tuesday and were found with electrical appliances they had stolen from people’s houses.
In other incidents 15 people were found in possession of dagga while three shebeens were closed down and their alcohol confiscated.
Makhubela says that the police will not take a break from fighting crime and the only way to win the war against crime is by the community teaming up with the police.
