Secondary pupils showcase their talents

Seven Schools in Diepkloof will be showcasing their talent at the Diepkloof Schools Drama Festival today.

The Diepkloof High Schools’ Drama Festival will be hosted at the Diepkloof Multipurpose Hall on February 28.

Seven schools will be participating in the festival. Paul Noko, a theatre actor that the festival is aimed at creating awareness about various issues of concern in the community

“This year’s theme is alcohol abuse and its impact on risky sexual behaviour as well as aggression. The performances also give young people an opportunity to explore theatre, which is still inaccessible to many township pupils and some of the community,” he said.

Noko said that everyone is invited.

105 pupils will take part in different productions.

The schools that are participating are Bopasenatla Secondary School, Diepdale Secondary School, Fidelitas Secondary School, Fons Luminus Secondary School, Immaculata Secondary School, Namedi Secondary School and Madibane Secondary School.

The festival starts at 10am.
