We are working around the clock to fight crime – police

More than 200 arrested over the past month.

The statistics released by Moroka Police Station shows that for the past month, more than 200 people have been arrested for different crimes.

Though the station communications officer John Serala didn’t give the exact statistics about all the crimes commited, he did mentioned some.

“The crimes that are in the spotlight and that which I can confirm were committed by the suspects include house breaking, car high jacking, theft and armed robbery.

“It has come to our attention these particular crimes might grow if we don’t keep sharp eye on them, so we are not going to just sit back and relax.

“We are going to come up with every crime fighting strategy to fight such crimes and make sure that those committing them are heavily punished,” he said.

Serala said: “When it comes to crime fighting, nothing will ever stop us nor beat us; we have such dedicated, intelligent and hardworking officers in our station.

“So criminals must just know that we are waiting to pounce on them and punish them so hard,” he said.
