A driver was allegedly hijacked in Devland last Thursday morning.
“One of my drivers were hijacked at the robots in Devland at 11:30am.
“He was beaten up and taken hostage for three hours,” said Galen Son, owner of Avrille Building Projects.
This was the second time in three months that one of his staffers has been hijacked at the same spot.
The man who was hijacked suffered severe injuries but is recovering at home, according to Son.
Police apprehended three suspects the same evening and the stolen bakkie was recovered.
“I want to warn motorists that that area (robots at Devland) is a hotspot for hijackings,” Son said.
