Boy placed third at cluster level

Lee-ano Diljan took part in the cluster level competitions

Lee-ano Diljan, a shot-put athlete went through to the cluster level where he represented Eldos with another shot-put athlete.

Diljan came first at the inter-primary sports and third at the cluster level.

“It was tough because I had new competition but I didn’t let that stop me from giving my best,” said Diljan who was proud to represent his community.

Abigail Diljan said that since his participation in the sport, Diljan is confident and takes part in other sports.

Diljan sees himself taking part in Olympics and dreams to compete in Durban.

Abigail appreciates the motivation from the school principal, Harold Heldsinger.

“He was very supportive and encouraging to the children,” Abigail said.

She encourages parents to challenge their children.

“Our youth don’t take part in physical activities, we should let them take part in sports,” Abigail said.

Diljan is hoping to continue his shot-put career when he is in high school.
