A 51 year old man who had been visiting his girlfriend in Zondi was attacked and killed outside his girlfriend’s home.
Chairperson of the Dorijota Taxi Association Vusi Shabangu was reversing out of his girlfriend’s home at around 10pm on Tuesday when the attackers began shoot.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubela says that the perpetrators wanted Shabangu dead because the shooting was scattered and they were heavily armed.
“We found 10 R5 rounds and Nine 9mm pistol capsules, this shows that these guys meant business.
“We are looking at all aspects of investigation including the possibility of taxi violence but no arrests were made,” Makhubela said.
