Mayor visits families of two dead Soweto girls

Mayor accompanied by various priests and officials visit the site where the murders took place..

The executive mayor of the city of Joburg, Parks Tau visited the families of two former George Khoza Secondary School pupils who were found dead at a valley in Dobsonville.

Chwayita Rhathazwayo and Thandeka Moganetsi were found dead last week in an apparent ritualistic murder.

The mayor was accompanied by various priests and officials from his department.

His visit follows the MEC of Education Barbara Creecy’s visit to both the families.

Offering his condolences, Tau said he is deeply saddened by the news and the family’s loss for that matter.

He said” I am shocked about what has befallen Soweto, Dobsonville in particular because I hear that this is the second time in one area that lives are lost.

Last year two pupils one from Boikanyo Primary and the other Thabang Primary School were found to have drowned in the same area.

Tau said even if or not any of these ruthless activities are linked to Satanism, perpetrators must be found and prosecuted.

“Satanism must be confronted, symptoms must be identified and solutions implemented,” said Tau.

Church leaders together with the mayor flocked to the scene where a cleansing prayer was held.

Bishop Mosa Sono of Grace Bible Church said the society needs to stand up against evil activities by working together.

He said” What we need is a spiritual intervention.

Dry blood was still visible where both bodies lay.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e93wzp_BGVg
