Health MMC gives to family in Jabulani

Member of Mayoral Committee does all in her power to help.

MMC for the Department of Health and Social Development, Noncebo Molele and taff from the City of Joburg donated a wheelchair and a food parcel to Mxolisi Ngcobo, a resident of the Jabulani community last week Friday.

Ngcobo is unable to walk after he was involved in an accident which left his right leg broken, forcing him to balance on one leg and use crutches.

During the first week of February Ngcobo was on duty washing cars when a car turned too close to the pavement , Ngcobo jumped away from the car but unfortunately it wasn’t enough and the back tyre rode over his right leg.

His biggest problem for him now is being mobile and the distance to the clinic is a challenge because it’s a long distance away for him get a taxi that goes to the clinic.

Ngcobo said he was honoured to be paid a visit by the MMC and given a wheelchair and food.

“The Lord really does answer prayers because I’ve been trying to adjust to being partially able and praying that the difficulty I’m going through ends as soon as possible.

“This wheel chair is the just the answer, at least I will be mobile while I battle through recovery,” Ngcobo said.

Molele said she received the story about a young man who was struggling and was touched to the extent that she went out of her way to help even if her job doesn’t deal with offering donations.

“The fact that he was trying so hard to make an honest living but disadvantaged by careless driving is what caught my attention.

“I felt for the young man and I tried all avenues to get the wheel chair, the food, and to come up with a way of getting sustainable support to both him and the family,” Molele said.

The MMC said that they department and all its subsidiaries try hardest to work for the people because it is there for the people.

Molele also encourages the community to make full use of all government facilities because that pushes them to do more.
