Organisations pay tribute to former comrade

Rest In Peace Matshidiso ‘Dizzy’ Regina Njikelana.

ANC members, councillors, South African National Civic Organisation (Sanco), Soweto Forum, Umkhonto WeSizwe Military Veterans Association (MKVA) and the family of the late Matshidiso ‘Dizzy’ Regina Njikelana gathered at Mezodo Technical School on February 20 at a memorial prayer session in Dobsonville.

People sang, danced and some shared their life experiences during their time with Njikelana.

Njikelana who was involved in the works of the ANC, SANCO, CPF and others, died following a car accident that happened near Usave Shoprite, Dobsonville.

Ward 44 councillor, George Lekgetho said Njikelana was a dedicated mother who spent most of her time working to better the community.

SANCO chairperson, Setlamorago Thobejane described Njikelana as an ambitious leader whom when their organisation encountered problems would help correct the wrongs.

Thobejane said: “We had to organise a special tribute in honour of her spirit and that’s exactly what we did.

“May her soul rest in peace and I urge the family to keep strong during this mourning period,” said Thobejane.
