Ex-offenders Community Project needs female ex-offenders to be part of the organisation.
Currently the organisation is dominated by males.
A member of the organisation, Tumi Mokgatle said: “Crime is not committed by males only.
“We need females to become part of us so they can tell their stories and encourage young girls not to fall into the trap of being criminals.”
She has never been arrested but said the stories she has heard from female friends about getting into a life of crime and being in prison are scary.”
While giving a talk at Kwa-Mahlobo Secondary School, she said: “Girls get arrested too.
“Do not get fall into the trap of being a criminal.
“Stay in school and work towards being someone successful,” she said.
