Police to hold meetings with residents

Residents are invited to a meeting where police will explain their role and the role of the community.

Eldorado Park police are having meetings with each sector over the next coming days.

Management of Eldorado Park police will be introduced and community will understand their role.

“The purpose of the meeting is to inform the community of challenges faced by the police, to explain the role of police and the role of the community,” said Captain Phillemon Khorombi.

They will also explain sector policing and bring service delivery to the community, Khorombi said.

The first meeting was called and no more than 10 residents attended, according to Khorombi.

“People always complain that they don’t know the police but when we call meetings, nobody pitches.

“We don’t want to address 10 people, we want to address 500 people,” Khorombi said.

Residents who are keen on serving the community as CPF should attend the meetings in their sector.

Meetings for sector one and three have been arranged for February 17 and 18 respectively.

Sector one will congregate at the board room of the Extension nine stadium while Sector three will meet at Florida Primary School.

Meetings will start at 7pm.

Dates for the remainder of the sectors are to be announced at a later stage.
