Motale's killers still not in jail

Motale family still mourning over their son's death.

Thato Motale, was stabbed to death last year in an alleged fight and there has still not being a conclusion in his murder trial.

The burden of this murder trial has affected the Motale family in a bad way.

“I am not ok, I don’t sleep at night even though we used to fight like any mother and son, I miss him even more now,” says Gloria Motale, the deceased mother.

Motale said she would like the boy who did this to her son to deal with the consequences of his actions.

“I want justice for my son’s death, no one deserves to die like Thato did,” she said.

“The case has been going on at the Protea Regional Court and even though the suspect was arrested, he was released on a R1000 bail.

“It has been a year and still we are no closer to a conviction.

“This case has caused stress and hardship to our family and we feel that it is time it came to the conclusion,” said Velaphi Vana, Thato’s uncle.

He said they want a conclusion, as the death of Thato has changed his sister.

“She is more reserved, she is always in her room and this is not good for her,” he said.

“Holidays are no longer the same, birthdays are going to be hard especially this year he would have celebrated his birthday on February 8.

“This will be the first birthday that he is not here,” Motale said.

She said she would appreciate counselling and pleads with any qualified professionals willing to council her to come forward.
