Top pupils recognised and awarded

Top pupils for 2013 received a cash prize from Shaheed’s Fast Foods.

The top pupil in each grade were rewarded for their hard work and achievement for 2013. –

Rashid Muller from Shaheeds Fast Food awarded the pupils and said that they should bring other pupils under their wing. –

Melicious Jacobs, from Kliptown Secondary School got four distinctions, Leandra Hudson from Silver Oaks Secondary School got eight distinctions, Liezl-Anne Davids from Lancea Vale Secondary School got four distinctions, Morgan Kelly from Kliptown Secondary School got three distinctions and Whitney Johnson from Kliptown Secondary School had six distinctions. –

The top pupils were from Grade Eight to matric respectively.-

Muller shared his growing up with the pupils, he said he didn’t have much when he grew up.-

“I had no shoes, no lunch, it was difficult and I was forced to leave school because of my destitute background but that is what motivated me.-

“I always told myself if my circumstances change I want to help others,” Muller said.-

He said he would steal with his ears and eyes.-

The pupils said they are very grateful to the Muller family because the cash they received will go a long way.-

“My hard work paid off and I am very grateful for what the Muller family has done,” said Johnson.-

She encouraged pupils to discipline themselves and they should make sure to understand what they are studying but must also have time to relax.-

Johnson will be studying Mathematical Science at the University of Johannesburg.-

The top pupils all say that they didn’t expect to achieve what they did but they were excited when they heard the news of the achievement. –

They are already working to achieve the same or better results at the end of this year.-

“Study from day one, work hard, study smart, make sure you know and understand what you are studying and discipline yourself,” they said.-

The Muller family also gave an award to Kliptown Secondary School as the best performing school for their matric pass rate.-

The Muller family has been recognising top pupils for the past three years and welcomes businesses to follow suit.
