Rockwell Automation in Randburg visited Barona Child Care Centre in Diepkloof Zone 2 last Friday.
The Rockwell Automation management heard about the care centre from an employee who lives in Diepkloof.
Barona Child Care Centre takes care of children from underprivileged backgrounds and orphans.
The manager for the centre Feni Mthembi said that the company contacted them last year to host a Christmas party.
“Unfortunately it was too late to plan the party and then they decided that they would have a back to school campaign. The company donated stationery according to grades, food, drinks and toiletries for 360 children,” she said.
Mthembi said that 20 Rockwell employees did not just donate.
“They had a career guidance talk with the children and motivated them to stay in school. We are very grateful to Rockwell for everything and we hope that our relationship prospers and we work together in the future,” she said.
Mthembi said that she was in talks with the company about them donating uniforms.
