Women’s Forum expresses gratitude

The Women’s Forum does home-based care, assists patients with wheelchairs, helps with applying for grants, escorts the elderly and frail to hospital and clinics, collects medication and tries to help their patients family with stationery and school uniforms.

The Women’s Forum has been receiving generous donations for years and because of that, it makes their work easier said Maureen Loots.-

“We thank them because we start with nothing,” she said.-

Their office is open throughout December and the women rely on stipends to carry them through. They had a Christmas party for their patients with the help of Pick n Pay Kliptown and BP Extension two.-

“We try to make our patients feel special because some of them do not have families,” Loots said.-

She also appreciates the effort that the care-givers put in and says that without them there would be no Women’s Forum.-

Loots says that there have been donors who give whenever they need anything.-

“Balthal Gail, Ingrid Dennis Cliffview Primary School, Geanie Isaacs, Catherine Khan, Honeycone, St. Catherines Catholic Church, Lenasia Halaal and Van Wyk make our jobs easier and for that we truly appreciate what they do for us.-

“Their efforts really help us,” Loots said.
