'Donating blood is not complicated'

Donate blood and save a life.

The South African National Blood Services (SANBS) thanked South African for donating blood over the festive and urged them to keep on donating.

Vanessa Raju said that SANBS needs to collect 3 000 units of blood daily to meet the demand for patients in need in SA’s private and public hospitals.

“We need people to continue donating blood and the procedure is painless.

“The minimum requirement for to be a donor is be between the ages of 16 – 65 years, Weigh more than 50 kg, be in good health and live a sexually safe lifestyle,” she said.
