The fight continues

A motorcade went through Eldos and surrounding areas continuing the fight against crime

Community leaders, police, residents, organisations and Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD), on Saturday took to the streets to remind residents that they will continue fighting against substance abuse, crime and mob justice. The motorcade went through Eldorado Park, Freedom Park and Slovo Park where community leaders and police addressed crowds. Brigadier Leroy Nolan encouraged community to work with the police to eradicate the social ills faced by residents. –

“Let’s take hands, if not for us let’s do it for our children.-

“It is upon all of us to ensure that we win this battle that has been coming on for too long,” Councillor Peter Raferty said.-

The CPF said that are putting an end to drugs, domestic violence and gangserism. –

They also encouraged residents to report challenges that they face with the police.-

Captain Phillemon Khorombi said that these kind of marches are beneficial to the community because it strengthens their relationship with the police.-

“With the marches we had last year, we saw a decrease in substance abuse and we received many tips and information from the community,” Khorombi said.-

Residents are urged to continue assisting the police with information.
