Thari Ya Bana starts new year

Thari Ya Bana believes in a holistic teaching approach.

It was business as usual at Thari Ya Bana, Pre-School in Pimville Zone Five as the Grade R, class were ready to begin with the new curriculum that will make them ready for primary school.

“We believe in an holistic approach of teaching where each pupil is taught according their age group and by the end of the year, the Grade R’s will be ready for ‘big school’,” said Bridget Mguni the pre-school’s principal.

The school’s daily programmes are set out in a way that helps teachers identify challenges in different pupils.

“Our early intervention (inclusion) programme helps us run our day to day activities within the school and the programme is compulsory in all 41 Asha Pre-Schools in Soweto,” she said.

Mguni anticipates that the year will be a very good year and thanked all the parents for support they have continued to show throughout the year.

She said she takes her hat off to those that dedicated their lives to teaching as it is a very hard but satisfying job.

“You need to love children and have a passion for them and I believe that all Asha Pre-School’s offer that,” she said.
