Elderly given love and care

Local entrepreneur shows love and care to the elderly.

Senaoane Pick n Pay hosted more than 100 elderly people to a free breakfast and lunch in celebration of the festive season.

Shopowner Motsamai Karedi said all the elderly who were hosted to this event deserved the free pampering session.

“Our parents and grandparents go through a lot of social issues affecting them and the least we can do is show the care and love we have for them.

“This was a fun- and edutainment-filled event where the parents engaged in activities such as dance and singing and we offered them free goodie bags to take home as a remembrance of being part of this event,”

Maria Motlou, who attended the event, said that it was a great learning curve for her to be among those who attended the event.

“I enjoyed the party, especially when we were interacting as women and giving each other guidance and advices on how to make our areas the greatest areas in Soweto.

“We also shared tips about parenting and building united and happy families and how to give great parenting to our teenage children.”

Karedi said this is not the end of showing love and care to the elderly.

“Senaoane Pick n Pay has a mandate of giving back to our community, both young and old.

“So even during the year we will still host events which intend to giving hope and inspiration to poor, child headed families and abused children.”
