Hard work pays off

It is true that you reap what you sow.

The point of matric is to give your all during the year so that one can see the fruits and smile at the end of the year, this is according to Nonhlaganipho Hlathwa who has passed her matric.

Having earned herself a bachelor symbol for her overall mark, the girl from Zola Three says all the time and effort she has spent towards her school work has finally paid off.

“I’m proud of myself.

“I had told myself that I’d rather be a book worm than risk not getting what I want because all the entertainment in this world is not going anywhere.

“Time is precious and wasting another year having to repeat subjects can be avoided, only if you know what you want in life and you tell yourself that you will do whatever it takes to get to where you want to be,” Hlathwa said.

According to Hlathwa her mother called her before she saw her results and said she got an overall distinction but saw a B symbol on the papers.

Throughout secondary school there is more than enough fun and entertainment but every student out there should make an ultimate sacrifice for Grade 11 and 12, it pays off, Hlathwa said.

She says she got a B in both Math and Science and has already gotten an offer from the institutions she has applied at.

With the University of Johannesburg being her first preference, she says she plans to study medicine and specialize in optometry.
