Failing matric is not the of the world

There is time and ample opportunity to improve your results.

Candidates from the class of 2013 who have not made it this year are encouraged not to give up or lose hope for the future because there is time and ample opportunity to improve on where they have gone wrong.

Speaking from experience, Mxolisi Maseko was a candidate of last year’s examination and says that this year is the year for him to do better than last year

“It was disappointing nit seeing my name on the paper, but this doesn’t mean I am a failure in life.

“Accepting that I didn’t make it and realizing where I have gone wrong come as an opportunity to do some introspection and go back to school and improving on what has made me fail,” Maseko said.

According to Maseko, before the results were published his parents told him that they will continue to love him even when regardless of what the results may be.

“They told me that failing matric is not the end of the world and that if I don’t make it then they will be with all the way when I register for rewriting.

“I don’t think I’d feel this encouraged if my parents were not so supportive and I think if parents put less pressure on their children than the rate of suicide occurrence would decrease,” Maseko said.

He says he plans to go back to school and find a job this year because he needs the money and also wishes to do some courses next year that may increase his chances of better employment.
