18-year-old shot dead

Police seek killer.

While Diepkloof was celebrating the New Year, the Khuzwayo family received news that their 18-year-old son had been murdered.

Police have confirmed that Sihle Calvin Khuzwayo’s body was found in Diepkloof Phase 2 with two bullet wounds in his head.

Sihle’s aunt, Nomvula Khuzwayo, said that he was a great child.

“Sihle was funny, calm, and playful and he loved children. He had his days as a teenager but he knew the time to play and the time to be serious.

“He was not perfect but he was responsible, sensible, loved school and his family and we had such high expectations for him,” she said.

Khuzwayo said that the family has not only lost their son but the community has lost a future leader.

Sihle was born on October 1 1996; at the time he died he had passed his Grade 11 with flying colours at Immaculata Secondary School where he was studying with a scholarship .

The principal of Immaculata, Dr Matilda Dube, said that when she got the call that Sihle was dead she was devastated.

“He was a very clever child and I was looking forward to the year because I knew that he was going to pass matric with distinctions. He was one of our top pupils and it breaks my heart that all that talent is gone,” she said.

The police are investigating the murder.

Talking at the memorial service held at Immaculata last Wednesday Constable Constance Nyathi said that they will find the killer.

“We are asking the community to help us find the person who killed Sihle.

“If there is anyone in the community who knows something we ask them to help us find the killer,” she said.

If anyone has information they can contact the police station on 011 933 7400.
