The Youth Desk invites youth who are idle at home to take part in uplifting the community.
Their daily routine starts by recruiting youth to join the Youth Desk and doing home visits.
“Our unemployed youth have nothing to do during the day, we want to interact with them,” said Jabulani Mtsweni, chairperson of the Youth Desk.
The Youth Desk also do day-care visits around Freedom Park, Eldorado Park and Slovo Park where they educate on child safety.
Mtsweni says that some of their volunteers have received internships from the department of infrastructure development.
“Those who have passed Grade 11 and matric are often given opportunities by the department of infrastructure development,” he said.
