2014 Youth summit

Youth skills summit on the cards.

VenaNet has engaged in its second phase of youth empowerment, hosting a youth skills summit on January 22.

The aim of the summit is to engage the public on the possible sectors in which their skills can be utilised.

Their approach on doing this is to co-ordinate the pool of skills in the community by creating a database and link between the sectors and the community.

Bearing in mind that skills which are utilised in the market need recognition, VenaNet aims to establish a systematic way of recognizing and accrediting raw skills and experience.

At the end of the summit, VenaNet aims to bring a difference to the community by helping their skill be recognized and redirecting them to outlets that can use such skills.

Students who were in metric class of 2013, other former students and the community at large are invited to attend.

The summit partnering with the National Youth Development Agency, Gauteng Economic Propeller, the Regional Office and other partners will be held at the Jabulani Technical High School starts at 11.am and will end on the late afternoon.

As a continuation from the summit, VenaNet aims to host a career exposition day in preparation for the class of 2014 in order for them to have a more informed decision when choosing a career path in 2015.
