Parents thanked by principal

Principal urges parents to be involved in their children's lives.

A parents meeting was held at Forte High School to discuss issues regarding education.

Teenage pregnancy, drugs, mischief and pupil punctuality were some of the issues discussed.

Principal Leonard Mudavhi encouraged parents to look after their children.

Mudavhi said parents must know if their children are engaged in sexual matters or do narcotics.

“There are many things that can slow a child’s progress down, pregnancy for instance.

“Your child’s education is your concern; we want parents to advise children about the importance of going to school,” he said.

He told parents that the school continues to produce quality results because of their support.

From 262 matriculants who wrote exam, 239 passed and the rest failed.

102 distinctions were produced.

“Working as a team we will achieve greater things.

He said that the school will be functional 24/7 as the Department of Education has hired security to patrol after hours.

He urged parents to support their children on their academics, check their books regularly and make sure they attend extra lessons.
