Higher matric pass rate for Eldos

The class of 2013 improved in results.

There was an overall increase in the matric results from the eight schools in Eldorado Park and Klipspruit.

Of the eight schools, five saw an increase in their results while three dropped.

The pass rate for Eldorado Park 2013 is 78% an increase from 2012s 71%. Willow Crescent Secondary School climbed from a 50% pass rate in 2012 to 81% in 2013.

“We are thrilled.

“Through all the challenges the school faced we managed to triumph,” said Vincent Du Preez, principal of Willow Crescent Secondary School.

Eldomaine High School, which was converted to a high school in 2012, had a 1% increase and saw an increase in quality too. Kliptown Secondary School was rated the top school with an 89% pass rate, followed by Lanceavale Secondary School with 87%. Eldorado Park Senior Secondary School came third with 86%, followed by Willow Crescent then Eldomaine, with 73%. Missouri Secondary School sixth with 71% pass rate, Silver Oaks seventh with 66% and Klipspruit Secondary School had a 52% pass rate.

Eldomaine Secondary School extended their best wishes to Willow Crescent Secondary School for their exceptional increase.

“Their results are a celebration for not only the school but Eldos too,” said Ashley Pienaar.
