'I am delighted that some children did pass'

This past year, Masechaba set a target of 60 which is the number of pupils whom she had planned to help.

23-year-old Masechaba Kubeka from Dobsonville helps school pupils with their homework and anything that has to do with education.

She has been doing this for the past nine months.

She passed Grade 12 in 2007 and ever since then she only thought of sharing her knowledge with those in need of help.

She offers help on school subjects such as mathematics, life science, economics, business studies, accounting and home languages.

All these areas are offered free of charge.

This past year, Masechaba set a target of 60 which is the number of pupils whom she had planned to help.

This target was not met as some pupils withdrew from her classes.

Masechaba did not say why this happened.

“Many pupils came by my house for the lessons but after some time they stopped coming.

“Unfortunately I do not understand the motive behind this occurrence but I’m hoping to find out.

Through her tutoring period, Masechaba said most pupils passed very well.

“I will always have a place for underperforming pupils and I plan to continue with the lessons,” said Masechaba.
