Members of a stokvel were robbed of R14 000 in Zone Nine, last Saturday.
They had just withdrawn from the bank so it could be shared with all the members.
The police spokesperson, Sibusiso Chauke said it was reported that when they got back from the bank, they parked outside one of the member’s house.
As they were chatting in the car, two men, one of which had a gun forced opened the car boot and took the bag that had the money and sped away.
A case of armed robbery was opened, no arrests have been made.
Chauke urges anyone with information on the case to report to the police.
“Stokvels should not keep money on them.
“They must rather arrange with banks to transfer to different bank accounts so as to avoid such incidents,” he said.
