The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) last Saturday hosted a rally at the Regina Mundi in Jabavu.
The famous church that acted as refuge to struggle heroes during apartheid played a pivotal part in bringing together a group of individuals that feel they have been undone by the current government.
According to Tshepo Vana, the Pimville party spokesperson, the aim of the rally was bring together residents that are ready for a change and celebrate the growth the party has been making in Soweto.
Tshepo Vana, the said the aim of the rally was for new members to meet other members.
He said the party leadership urged supporters to gather as much support as they can before next year’s election.
“We aim to make an impact not only in the township but also in South Africa as a whole,” he said.
There were different forms of entertainment for the crowd.
Amashazi Amahle Cultural Group entertained with the maskandi dance number.
