Stimulation center recieves donation

Johannesburg Retired Teachers Association (Joreta) Orlando East Branch donated children’s chairs and tables to Nkanyezi Stimulation Center.

Johannesburg Retired Teachers Association (Joreta) Orlando East Branch donated children’s chairs and tables to Nkanyezi Stimulation Center in Orlando West.

Joreta is a group of retired teachers who have come together to make a difference in the community.

They believe that retirement does not mean that one has to just sit at home and not be active in their community.

“Nkanyezi Stimulation Center is doing an excellent job in looking after children with multiple physical and mental disorders. We have visited the center before and we were very impressed with the work that they are doing, we then decided to find out what they are in need of and found that they need chairs and tables,” said Baxolile Zwane.

Zwane said that they will carry on visiting the center and helping where they can.

She also encouraged other retired teachers to join Joreta stating that retired teachers still have the skills and ability to make a difference in the community.

“I call on all retired teachers to join us in the work that we are doing. The more we are the more work we can do,” she said.

The founder of Nkanyezi Stimulation Centre Thembekile Tshabalala said that she is thankful for the much-needed donation.

“It is through organisations such as Joreta that we keep on doing the work that we are doing. They must keep up the good work and I hope that other organisations will learn from them,” she said.
