Kasi recieves pupil of the year award

Nkosana Kasi a Grade 7 pupil from AB Xuma Primary School was awarded outstanding pupil of the year award.

Nkosana Kasi a Grade 7 pupil from AB Xuma Primary School was given the outstanding pupil of the year award last Thursday during their school awards which were held at Communal Hall in Orlando East.

Kasi received awards in isiZulu, arts and culture, technology, science and overall pupil of the year.

“I am so happy to have received the pupil of the year award, I have worked so hard and I knew that I would get the pupil of the year award.

“I have put in a lot of time and dedication to my school work. I spend two hours after school going through my school work,” said Kasi.

He said that he is excited on the new journey that he will be embarking on as he heads to high school.

“I am excited about high school but I am also scared as I don’t know anybody there and I also see that some high school pupils do drugs, but I know that I will never get involved in such activities.

Kasi said that he will miss AB Xuma Primary School he said that he will miss all his teachers and friends.

“This is the best school ever the teachers are so supportive, as I embark on a new journey I will never forget the love I got from AB Xuma Primary School,” he said.

Kasi’s mother Phindile said that she is so proud of her son. She said that she thanks God for blessing her with such a brilliant son.

“Nkosana has always loved school ever since he was in Grade R he just loved school. He loves to read and is constantly asking questions,” she said.

Nkosana’s mom is unemployed and she says that as much as she is not able to financially support her son she gives him all the support she can when it comes to his school work.

“I am going to do what I can to make sure I get him a bursary I don’t want my son to be like me and only have a matric certificate, I want him to fulfil his dream of been a scientist or engineer.
