Westbury High gets solar-powered classroom

Westbury High gets top of the range classroom from Investec this past Friday.

Westbury Secondary School received a new solar-powered class room from Investec.

This classroom is one of the top of the art classrooms because of the solar panels and the interactive white board that is in the classroom.

“We have decided to not use this classroom as a teaching room but as a teacher development centre,” said Been Robinson the principal.

Investec has been helping the school for the past few months with different projects on the school premises.

“Throughout the years we have put our pupils ahead and couldn’t provide our teachers with their skills development,” said Robinson.

This is the very first Teachers Development Centre in area that promises to make sure that teachers get training on new methods of teaching.

“We need to be able to develop with technology as some of the teachers still teach the old school way.

“This is for the greater Westbury community as we all would benefit from this,” said Robinson.
