Men encouraged to become health conscious

Residents got a chance to get some free medical testing at the Soweto Keep Fit Health and Awareness Day.

Blood pressure, eye screening, pap smears and prostate cancer are the tests that were offered to residents.

“Residents need to make sure that they get tested the earlier one detects illnesses the better,” said operational manager at Jabulani Civic Center Charles Ramatsokotla.

He said that he encourages more men to be health conscious. “I have come to realise that woman are more interested in their health than men.

I am pleased with today’s turnout but I encourage men to come out get tested. Prevention is better than cure,” he said.
