Green Village Clinic launches diabetes centre

The launch of a diabetes health centre at the Green Village Clinic has pleased clinic manager Veronica Maqanda.

Residents and officials from diverse government departments, NGOs and others private institutes gathered at the clinic to demonstrate a wide-range of things that can help improve one’s well-being.

Maqanda said the purpose of the event was to create awareness on health as a crucial part of life.

She said diabetes has become a pandemic all over the world and that it is imperative to disseminate messages that can better or save people’s lives.

“I encourage the community to test and screen for non communicable and communicable diseases on regular basis.

“Region D’s Health Department is responsible for conducting the 5km Fun Walk and the Healthy Living Lifestyle campaign at the clinic,” said Maqanda.
